New Members Appointed to UGA Foundation Board of Trustees

The University of Georgia Foundation Board of Trustees has welcomed new members and announced updates for the coming year, strengthening a network of alumni and supporters dedicated to advancing the university’s teaching, research and service mission.
The UGA Foundation elected and approved a slate of voting trustees, advisory trustees and associate members who will serve alongside current board members to provide strategic guidance and philanthropic leadership for the university. In addition, six trustees were granted emeritus status in recognition of their exceptional service and lasting contributions to the foundation.
The UGA Foundation Board of Trustees comprises leaders from across Georgia and the nation who lend their expertise, advocacy and philanthropic support to help advance the university’s priorities and create opportunities for future generations of Bulldogs.
Individuals with new positions or status within the UGA Foundation are:
Voting Trustees
- Richard J. Arroll II (Rich), of Atlanta, is principal at Major & Arroll, LLC. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from UGA in 1984.
- William Craig Barrs (Craig), of Atlanta, is the retired executive vice president of customer service and operations at Georgia Power Company. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from UGA in 1980.
- Andrew Truett Cathy, of Atlanta, is the chief executive officer at Chick-fil-A, Inc. He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from UGA in 2002.
- Kimber L. Houlne (Kim), of Plano, Texas, is the chief executive officer at Working Solutions, LLC. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication studies from UGA in 1988.
- Lewis Abit Massey, of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, is partner at Impact Public Affairs and former secretary of state for Georgia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from UGA in 1984.
- Kessel Drewry Stelling Jr., of Atlanta,is the retired executive chairman and chief executive officer at Synovus Financial Corporation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from UGA in 1978.
Advisory Trustees
- Charles George Andros, of Atlanta, is the president and chief investment officer at Bay Point Advisors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from UGA in 1995.
- William Harold Greer III (Hal), of Macon, Georgia, is managing director of investments at Stifel Financial. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from UGA in 1992.
- Stephanie Powell, of Statham, Georgia, is the vice president of internal affairs at Joe Powell & Associates, Inc. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education in 1994, Master of Education in 1997 and her Specialist in Education in 1999, all from UGA.
- Hugh M. Tarbutton Jr., of Atlanta, is the principal at Katahdin Management Company. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from UGA in 1986.
Associate Members
- Rebecca J. Mayo, of Athens, Georgia, serves as president of the UGA Staff Council.
- Susan Sanchez, of Athens, Georgia, serves as chair of the UGA University Council Executive Committee.
- Verner D. Wilson III (Trey), of Dacula, Georgia, serves as president of the UGA Student Government Association.
Emeritus Trustees
- Mitchell J. Green II (Mitch), of Savannah, Georgia, is the chief executive officer at Investment Performance Services, LLC and has served on the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees since 2018, where he served with distinction on the Audit and Corporate Governance Committee and Investment Committee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from UGA in 1984.
- Nancy C. Juneau, of Atlanta, is the chief executive officer at Juneau Construction Company and has served on the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees since 2018, where she served with distinction on the Student Scholarships and University Initiatives Committee, Development Committee, Finance Committee, Audit and Corporate Governance Committee and Nominating Committee — which she chaired for two years — and served as the board’s strategic vice chair for two years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure studies from UGA in 1982.
- Seth L. Knight III, of Columbus, Georgia, is a managing partner at Yates, LLC and has served on the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees since 2018, where he served with distinction on the Finance Committee, Nominating Committee, Development Committee — which he chaired for one year — and served as the board’s operational vice chair for the past four years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from UGA in 1982.
- Charles E. Knox (Charlie), of Augusta, Georgia, is the managing director of investments at Raymond James & Associates and has served on the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees since 2017, where he served with distinction on the Investment Committee, Foundation Fellows Committee, Nominating Committee and SSUI Committee. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UGA in 1987.
- Richard H. Pennell Jr. (Rick), of Greenville, South Carolina, is president and chief executive officer at Metromont Corporation and has served on the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees since 2018, where he served with distinction on the Investment Committee, Finance Committee and Development Committee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from UGA in 1981.
- Elizabeth M. Reid, of Annapolis, Maryland, has served on the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees since 2021, where she served with distinction on the SSUI Committee and the Development Committee. She also served as chair of the UGA Board of Visitors for one year. She earned her bachelor’s degree in language education from UGA in 1981.
