Family Connection-Communities In Schools of Athens is excited to host the Grown Up Spelling Bee, a night of lively competition and laughter. Hosted at the VFW Post 2872 on September 11, 2026, this one-of-a-kind event will feature teams of local businesses, community organizations, and friend groups alike, all taking the stage to test their spelling skills and compete for the ultimate bragging rights. 

More than just a competition, the Grown Up Spelling Bee is an opportunity for the community to come together to join the efforts of this local nonprofit as it envisions an Athens where every individual is empowered to reach their fullest potential. 

Expect an energetic atmosphere filled with friendly rivalry, audience engagement, and plenty of memorable moments. Community members, supporters, and spelling enthusiasts are encouraged to attend and be part of the excitement. Teams will be announced throughout the next month and opportunities to support them as they fundraise and strive to win Fan Favorite will be available all summer long.
