The Online Master of Business and Technology (MBT) at the University of Georgia is ranked No. 7 among public universities in the U.S. and No. 10 among all U.S. business schools, according to U.S. News & World Report’s survey of online specialized master’s programs in business.

The MBT program offered by the Terry College of Business is taught entirely through online courses, and working professionals can complete the part-time program in two years without taking time off from their careers.

“This year, we welcomed our 24th cohort of MBT students, and with each new class we continue to evolve the curriculum to address emerging technologies, such as generative AI,” said Craig Piercy, director of the MBT program and a principal lecturer in Terry’s Management Information Systems Department. “Developing our students’ capability to assess how businesses create value from emerging technologies is an important part of the education we offer. And our graduates are in high demand, with 100% of last year’s class employed when they completed the program.”

U.S. News ranked specialized master’s programs in business using measurements specific to online learning, including student engagement and quality, the technology and support structure given to students, faculty credentials, and a peer assessment of academic reputation.

Terry’s MBT program received high marks for the quality of its faculty and the time and resources utilized to train instructors to teach distance learners. Students in the program reported high satisfaction with instructors who are not only accessible and responsive but also create a learning environment that keeps students engaged in the online program and progressing toward on-time graduation.

“Terry’s focus on market-ready skills and leadership ability is clearly evident in the MBT ranking and the national reputation of all our graduate programs,” said Dean Ben Ayers. “We’re very proud of the employment outcomes for our in-person and online programs.”

The Terry College has expanded its online degree offerings to include a fully Online MBA that is taught virtually and provides the same exceptional support and personalization as the college’s highly ranked hybrid and residential MBA programs.

Later this year, Terry is adding a third online graduate degree for working professionals. The new Master of Professional Accountancy program will be geared to individuals without an undergraduate accounting degree who want to pursue professional licensure or advance in an accounting career.

The application period for Terry’s MBT, Online MBA and MPAcc programs is now open for Fall 2025.
