How CCSD Plans to get More Young Readers on Track

In 2022, only 32% of 4th grade students in Georgia were proficient readers. However, reading proficiency by this grade predicts educational outcomes later in life.

In December, the Clarke County School District released a video describing how it plans to help more students read at a proficient level by 4th grade.

Dr. Jennifer Scott, CCSD’s Deputy Superintendent for Academics and Student Support, sat down with WUGA’s Emma Auer to discuss those plans in depth.
