Athens Academy Math Teacher Celebrates 25 Years

Athens Academy faculty member Jason Couch has been recognized by the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) for his outstanding work in independent schools. He recently received the Distinguished Service Award for having dedicated 25 years of service to independent education.

Jason Couch is the seventh grade mathematics teacher and also serves as the head coach for Middle School football and baseball. He joined the Athens Academy faculty in 2014.

Coach Couch has a B.A. in finance from the University of Georgia and an M.A. in education leadership from The Klingenstein Center at Columbia University’s Teachers College. He previously worked as a math teacher and coach at King’s Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta and Wesleyan School in Norcross. As part of his studies at The Klingenstein Center, Jason served a one-year internship at Rice High School in Harlem (NYC).
