Verizon customers in Georgia are enjoying all the benefits of the top performing wireless network in the state, as rated by the new Georgia RootScore Report by RootMetrics. RootMetrics is an independent mobile analytics firm that uses off-the-shelf consumer smartphones to test the network capabilities of all four major U.S. wireless carriers in six network performance categories across various geographies.
This marks the fifth consecutive time Verizon won the Overall RootScore award in Georgia. Verizon also was ranked first in reliability, call performance and data performance and tied for first in network speed and text performance. Additionally, for the fifth consecutive time, Verizon’s wireless network has been acknowledged by RootMetrics as the leader in overall performance among national wireless service providers across the U.S. Scores are based on a total 119,398 RootMetrics tests, including 225 indoor locations across 6,558 miles in Georgia, from July through December 2015.
“Verizon’s top priority is our network, and we invest heavily in Georgia year in and year out to ensure our customers have the most reliable coverage across the state. Being recognized as the best overall network three consecutive times in Georgia by RootMetrics further validates our efforts and solidifies our position as the leading wireless carrier for customers,” said Sergei Mislevy, executive director – Network for Verizon’s Southeast market.
Verizon continues to enhance its network in Georgia by deploying new technology such as small cells and distributed antenna systems and expanding XLTE coverage, which doubles 4G LTE network bandwidth in cities nationwide, with faster peak speeds and greater capacity than before. In addition, Verizon has aggressively deployed LTE Advanced and carrier aggregation, which uses software to combine multiple network channels running on different spectrum bands into one big pipe, significantly increasing speeds for consumers.
In the Metro RootScore report series, Verizon also was rated highest in Overall Performance in Atlanta, and tied for first in Augusta, Ga. Additionally, Verizon’s wireless network was also recognized by RootMetrics as earning the most first place or shared first place rankings among the nation’s top airports in the second half of 2015, with 25 Data RootScore Awards, including the Atlanta airport.
