Two other area counties, Jackson and Barrow, also made the list. Overall, eight Georgia counties were within the top 100 fastest-growing counties between July 1, 2014 and July 1, 2015, according to the census data.

Athens-Clarke County is among the 100 fastest-growing counties in the nation, according to information released late last week by the U.S. Census Bureau.
