AT&T* added a new cell site to expand 5G coverage and capacity across Bethlehem, helping residents, businesses and public safety on FirstNet® get more from their mobile devices.

A new site southwest of Bethlehem boosts coverage west of Highway 11 along Tanners Bridge Road.

“Reliable wireless connectivity is essential for Barrow County’s residents, businesses and first responders. We appreciate AT&T’s investment in modern wireless infrastructure and its continued commitment to expanding and strengthening 5G connectivity in our county,” said Pat Graham, Chairman of the Barrow County Board of Commissioners. “Investments like this help support economic opportunity, keep our community connected and prepare Barrow County for the future.”

“Enhanced wireless connectivity can help first responders communicate quickly and reliably when our community needs us most,” said Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith. “AT&T’s investment in this new cell site is an important investment that will support emergency response capabilities and help first responders better serve and protect the people of Barrow County.”

AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable and highly secure connectivity to more than 320 million people in over 27,700 cities and towns nationwide, including Bethlehem. This helps Georgia residents and businesses get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play.

These enhancements also support first responders and the extended public safety community on FirstNet, Built with AT&T – America’s public safety network – by bringing Band 14 spectrum to the area. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane, delivering dedicated connectivity when needed. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

Created by the U.S. Congress after 9/11 and built by AT&T in public-private partnership with the FirstNet Authority, FirstNet is the only nationwide communications platform purpose-built for public safety.

“At AT&T, we know how important it is for our customers to stay connected. We are proud to invest in Barrow County with the wireless infrastructure necessary to connect in today’s digital world,” said Brian Barfield, Regional Director of External Affairs, AT&T Georgia. “With expanded access to AT&T 5G, this new cell site reflects our continued investment in modern communications infrastructure to help residents, businesses and first responders stay connected no matter where they are.”

From 2021 to 2025. AT&T invested more than $18.2 billion in our wireless and wireline networks in Georgia to boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and businesses.
