Future-Ready: U.S. News Rankings Spotlight Terry College’s Comprehensive Strengths

Every academic major at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business and a key new area of emphasis are ranked by U.S. News & World Report in its latest survey of the nation’s best colleges.
The Terry College’s undergraduate program in business is ranked No. 24 overall in the U.S. and No. 13 among public universities. The 2026-2027 survey marked the 10th straight year that Terry was ranked among the top 15 bachelor’s programs at the nation’s best public business schools, having been ranked as high as No. 9 the previous year.
Terry’s in-person enrollment also makes it one of the largest business schools in the country, with more than 11,000 students in total, including close to 10,000 undergraduates on UGA’s flagship campus in Athens. Compatibly, all eight undergraduate majors offered by the college are ranked by U.S. News, with three majors and one area of emphasis ranked among the nation’s top 10 public programs in their respective fields.

The college’s C. Herman Terry Risk Management and Insurance Program, which has the largest undergraduate RMI enrollment in the country, is ranked No. 2 overall and No. 2 among public programs by U.S. News. Sharing a department and a top five placement, the Real Estate program ranked No. 5 overall and No. 2 among publics.
Management Information Systems (No. 9 public and No. 11 overall) and a relatively new specialization in Business Analytics (No. 10 public and No. 30 overall) are Terry’s other top 10 public programs, according to U.S. News. Business Analytics is offered as a 12-credit hour “area of emphasis” available to every business major at Terry.
The J.M. Tull School of Accounting has been ranked a top 15 public program in accounting since U.S. News began ranking undergraduate programs a quarter-century ago. This year, the Tull School is ranked No. 14 among publics and the No. 24 accounting program overall.
Terry’s Marketing program is ranked No. 12 among public business schools and No. 28 overall, while Management ranked No. 13 among publics and No. 28 overall. And the Finance program, ranked No. 17, achieved a top 20 public ranking from U.S. News for the third straight year.
The John Munro Godfrey, Sr. Department of Economics received a top 30 public program ranking, out of more than 230 accredited economics programs that were ranked by U.S. News, the largest specialty ranking by far.
The annual ranking of undergraduate business programs by U.S. News & World Report is based on a reputational survey of deans and senior faculty at peer institutions accredited by AACSB International. Only 6% of the world’s business schools have achieved AACSB accreditation.
In addition to the U.S. News rankings, Niche.com, which ranks and reviews colleges and K-12 schools, recently ranked the Terry College as one of its 10 “Best Colleges for Business in America.” Niche ranked Terry’s undergraduate program No. 8 overall and No. 2 among public colleges for business. Niche also ranked Terry’s Accounting and Finance programs No. 7 overall and No. 3 among public universities.
U.S. News ranked the University of Georgia among the nation’s top 20 public universities for the 11th consecutive year. The ranking places UGA third among public universities in the Southeastern Conference and makes it one of only two Georgia institutions, along with Georgia Tech, ranked among the nation’s top 20 public universities.
