Invest in OCS: PEACH Education Tax Credit
Friday, August 21st, 2026
In partnership with the Georgia Foundation for Public Education (GFPE), Oconee County Schools is launching a new initiative that gives families, businesses, and community members an opportunity to directly support innovative learning opportunities for OCS students while receiving a dollar-for-dollar Georgia income tax credit.
Through the GFPE PEACH Education Tax Credit program, eligible Georgia taxpayers can direct state tax dollars to support approved education projects. OCS will use funds generated through the program to strengthen Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs by upgrading existing lab spaces and exploring additional career pathways based on the needs of students, the community, and the regional workforce.
“We are excited about the continued growth of CTAE in Oconee County Schools and the opportunities these programs provide our students,” said Superintendent Melissa Butler. “Strong CTAE programs benefit all students, whether they plan to attend a four-year university or technical college, enter the workforce, join the military, or complete an apprenticeship. Updated facilities and expanded programs give students opportunities to develop real-world skills, explore career interests, earn industry credentials, and graduate better prepared for their next step.”
Funds raised through the PEACH Education Tax Credit will allow OCS to make these investments without relying on general fund or local property tax dollars.
"The Georgia Foundation for Public Education is dedicated to strengthening our state's K-12 public education system," GFPE Executive Director Paige Buzbee Pushkin said. "We are thrilled to partner with Oconee County Schools to raise funds through the PEACH Education Tax Credit program to impact innovation and public education in Oconee County directly. Local money helping local students is a win for everyone."
