Nine Schools from Oconee County Earn Single Statewide Accountability System Awards

Nine schools from Oconee County have been recognized through the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement’s 2026 Single Statewide Accountability System Awards, honoring excellence in academic achievement and student growth.

The Single Statewide Accountability System Awards are based on three years of College and Career Ready Performance Index data. The Highest Performing awards honor schools with sustained high academic achievement, while the Greatest Gain awards celebrate schools demonstrating strong academic growth over time.

“These recognitions speak to the consistent work taking place across Oconee County Schools each day,” Superintendent Dr. Melissa Butler said. “Honors like these reflect a community-wide commitment to providing outstanding opportunities for children. We are grateful for the dedication of our students, teachers, leaders, support staff, and families who continue striving for excellence and growth.”

Rocky Branch Elementary received Gold recognition in both the Greatest Gain and Highest Performing categories. North Oconee High captured Gold recognition in the Greatest Gain category and Silver recognition in the Highest Performing category. Oconee County High was awarded Gold honors in the Greatest Gain category and Bronze honors in the Highest Performing category.

Colham Ferry Elementary, Dove Creek Elementary, High Shoals Elementary, Oconee County Primary, and Malcom Bridge Middle each received Silver recognition in the Highest Performing category. Malcom Bridge Elementary secured Bronze recognition in the Greatest Gain category.
