Chase Caldwell, Nedra Williams, and Michael Lozanski with BankSouth have graduated from the Georgia Banking School. The graduation ceremony took place May 1 at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel in Athens, Ga.

Established in 1961, the Georgia Banking School is a three-year specialized school run by the Georgia Bankers Association. The purpose of the school is to prepare bank managers to effectively and profitably serve their hometowns by developing a thorough understanding of banking practices, regulations, and management principles. Fifty-four Georgia bankers graduated from the program this year.

During the graduation, Michael Lozanski earned specialized recognition as part of the Winning Bank Exec Team for their community project. This award is the culmination of the program's rigorous Bank Management Simulation. Acting as senior bank officers, students work in teams to make complex operating, lending, and pricing decisions. By successfully navigating simulated internal and external forces—including economic shifts, competition, and regulatory constraints—Lozanski and his team drove the highest profitability and share prices to win the top honor.

“Graduating from the Georgia Banking School is a significant accomplishment and reflects a strong commitment to professional growth. These bankers leave the program better prepared to lead, make sound decisions and help their institutions succeed in a competitive and evolving industry,” said Georgia Banking School Board Chair Peter Faser.

The bank’s ongoing investment in the continuing education of its team members ensures that BankSouth employees are continuously equipped to provide top-tier products, services, and expertise to their customers. BankSouth also proudly sponsors several 1st and 2nd-year students currently progressing through the program.
