Hotel Abacus Contents Donated to Georgia Charities Ahead of Redevelopment

Mallory & Evans led the successful donation of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment from the Hotel Abacus to several Georgia nonprofit organizations as part of the property’s transition and upcoming redevelopment.
Rather than sending usable materials to landfills, Mallory & Evans coordinated the careful removal and distribution of hotel contents to community partners including Atlanta Mission, Athens Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and Advantage Behavioral Health Systems.
Items donated include guest room furniture, bedding, seating, tables, appliances, décor, and operational supplies — all of which will be repurposed to support housing initiatives, food security efforts and behavioral health services throughout the region.
“Redevelopment projects present a unique opportunity to make a meaningful community impact,” said Jake Strickland, Executive Vice President of Mallory & Evans. “We are proud to work alongside our partners to ensure that materials with continued life and value directly benefit organizations serving individuals and families across Georgia. This effort reflects our commitment to responsible development and community stewardship.”
The property, located in Athens, Georgia, will undergo a comprehensive redevelopment led by Core Spaces in partnership with Mallory & Evans. Details of the new development will be announced at a later date.
