BOE to Hold Budget Retreat, Executive Session on March 17th
Monday, March 16th, 2026
The Clarke County Board of Education will hold a budget planning retreat at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the Clarke County School District administrative offices building, 595 Prince Ave., Athens. As there will be a quorum of members present, the meeting is open to the public; however, there will not be a public participation period during the meeting.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board will receive an overview of the Fiscal Year 2027 budget process and timeline and discuss their budget priorities. Leaders from each of the district’s divisions (Office of the Superintendent, Academic and Student Support, Operations, Human Resources, and Business Services) will also present their proposed budgets. Board member input will be used by the Interim Superintendent and district leaders to present an initial proposed FY27 budget to the board at its April 2 meeting.
The meeting is scheduled to last approximately three hours. At 8 p.m., the board will hold a called executive session to discuss the ongoing CCSD superintendent search.
