AT&T has expanded its 5G and fiber internet networks in Auburn, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in connectivity. AT&T added a new cell site and new AT&T Fiber locations to enhance the area’s coverage and capacity.

The new site in Auburn boosts wireless coverage along Mt. Moriah Road and Harmony Grove Church Road. Additionally, AT&T Fiber is now available to more than 1,800 new residential and business locations in Auburn, providing more customers access to super-fast internet speeds up to 5-Gigs.1 This is part of the more than 6,000 customer locations in Barrow County that currently have access to AT&T Fiber.

“Access to reliable, high-speed internet is critical for our residents, small businesses, visitors and first responders. AT&T’s investment in fiber and 5G infrastructure will support economic growth and enhance everyday life for our citizens,” said Mayor Rick Roquemore, City of Auburn. “This 21st century connectivity will help the City of Auburn continue to be a great place to live, work and grow.”

“AT&T’s investment in Barrow County supports our vision of a connected, forward-looking county. Enhanced wireless coverage and access to high-speed fiber internet will help fuel innovation, expand educational opportunities and keep our communities safe,” said Pat Graham, Chairman, Barrow County Board of Commissioners. “We appreciate AT&T’s continued investment and commitment to building a stronger, more connected Barrow County.”

AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable and secure connectivity to more than 310 million people in over 25,700 cities and towns nationwide, including Auburn. This helps Georgia residents and businesses get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work and play.

These enhancements also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet® - the only nationwide communications network created with and for public safety. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked exclusively for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

“At AT&T, we know how important it is for our customers to stay connected. We are proud to invest in Barrow County with the fiber and wireless infrastructure necessary to connect in today’s digital world,” said Brian Barfield, Regional Director of External Affairs, AT&T Georgia. “With expanded access to AT&T Fiber and 5G, our customers will be able to experience better network connectivity that will help with virtual learning, responding to emergencies and connecting with one another.”

AT&T is the nation’s largest fiber internet provider.2 AT&T Fiber delivers speeds of up to 5-Gigs paired with network reliability for everyday needs, like helping students stay connected, enabling remote work and expanding telehealth access.
