Dr. Kereisha Donegal joins St. Mary’s Neurological Specialists

Dr. Kereisha Donegal, a board-certified specialist in neurology, has joined St. Mary’s Medical Group as a provider with St. Mary’s Neurological Specialists (SMNS) effective July 21, 2025.
Dr. Donegal brings more than 10 years of patient care experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She comes to St. Mary’s from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she has served as an adult neurology medical resident since July 2020. In this role, she teamed with other physicians, specialists and healthcare providers to provide patient care in rotation through University Hospital of Brooklyn, King County Hospital and Maimonides Medical Center.
Prior to her residency at SUNY, Dr. Donegal served as a medical officer at Hi-Tech Medical Centre and at Andrews Memorial Hospital, both located in Kingston, Jamaica. Additional clinical experience includes serving as a medical officer with Clarendon Health Department, Jamaica, and Kingston Public Hospital, Jamaica.
Dr. Donegal completed her medical residency in adult neurology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University; completed a medical internship through Kingston Public Health Hospital Bustamante Hospital for Children and Victoria Jubilee Hospital, Jamaica, and earned her medical degree from Instituto Superior de Ciencias Medicas Santiago de Cuba, where she also earned a certificate in Spanish. She recently completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology with emphasis on electromyography and neuromuscular diseases at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Mass.
She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology and the American Medical Association.
At SMNS, Dr. Donegal joins the neurology team of Dr. Angela McSwain, Dr. Robert Steadham and Dr. Cristina Schreckinger-Rodas. All are accepting new patients
