ACCGov Joins Georgia MV Express Kiosk Program for Vehicle Tag & Driver License Services
Thursday, February 20th, 2025
The Athens-Clarke County Tax Commissioner’s Office has joined the Georgia MV Express kiosk program. As a designated participating county, Athens-Clarke County residents now have access to 96 MV Express kiosks across Georgia that offer an innovative and efficient way to renew vehicle registrations, print tags, and – at select kiosks – renew driver licenses in as little as two minutes.
The MV Express kiosks, available at select Kroger and Publix grocery stores throughout Georgia, are designed to shorten in-person wait times and provide extended service hours — including evenings and weekends — to better serve the community. Residents can complete their vehicle registration transactions quickly and conveniently at the kiosks without the need to visit a tag office.
Key benefits of the new kiosk system for Athens-Clarke County residents include:
- Rapid service: Renew vehicle registrations and print tags in just two minutes.
- Extended hours: Access services during evenings, weekends, and early mornings, ensuring greater flexibility for busy schedules.
- Enhanced convenience: Enjoy the ease of renewing vehicle registrations at convenient neighborhood locations, saving time and travel.
- Identity verification capabilities: Select kiosks are equipped with advanced identity verification features to enable secure driver license renewals.
The nearest kiosk for Athens-Clarke County residents to renew vehicle registrations and print tags is located in Oconee County at the Epps Village Kroger, 1720 Epps Bridge Parkway, Athens, GA 30606. This location is open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, but does not support driver’s license transactions at this time. Residents can also visit any of the other 96 kiosks across Georgia. A full list of locations is available at the MV Express kiosk program website at www.gamvexpress.com.
“We are excited to be a part of the Georgia MV Express kiosk program, which aligns with my commitment to providing Athens-Clarke County residents with more accessible, efficient, and modern government services,” said Athens-Clarke County Tax Commissioner JP Lemay. “By partnering with MV Express, we are making it easier for everyone to access essential vehicle-related services without the burden of long waits and limited office hours.”
