Several CCSD Schools Holding 'Holiday Markets'

Several schools around CCSD are holding holiday gift markets this year for students to shop at for items for loved ones. Donations of new and gently used items are currently being accepted. See below for details on each school's market and information on how to donate.

Please note: This is a running list of schools and may be added to.

Holston Elementary

Bettye H. Holston Elementary School will open its second annual Winter Wonderland Store from Dec. 17-18 and is seeking donations of gently used, previously-owned items that you are no longer using such as picture frames, kitchen items, purses, jewelry, unused candles, books, gently used purses, unused lotions, household decorative items, holiday items, and wintry items like snow globes. Last year, basketballs, baby toys, and make-up kits were big hits. The school is also requesting gift bags/boxes (all sizes), wrapping/tissue papers, bows, bubble wrap, clear tape, and gift tags. Donations may be dropped off now at Holston during school hours (7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.

Volunteers are also being sought to work the Winter Wonderland Store wrapping gifts, assisting students with shopping, and setting up the store.

Support the annual Clarke Middle School Holiday Market by donating new and gently used items such as hats, sunglasses, functioning toys, jewelry, housewares, new personal care products (lotions, perfume, make-up), sports memorabilia or equipment, working electronics, etc.

Barnett Shoals Elementary School will hold its 16th annual Winter Wonderland Store from Dec. 16-18 and is asking for donations of gently used items such as household decorative items, wintry items like snow globes, jewelry, unused lotions/perfumes/colognes, games for kids, purses/wallets, winter accessories, and art supplies. In addition to these items, the school is also requesting gift bags/boxes (all sizes), wrapping paper, bows, bubble wrap, clear tape, and gift tags.

Hilsman Middle School is seeking donations for its fourth annual Holiday Market for students to “purchase” items for their families using their student incentive points.

Some items of interest include, but are not limited to: toys and games, wrapping paper and gift bags, electronics, books, jewelry, small stuffed animals/dolls, gloves, hats, scarves, mugs, candles, balls, fidgets, dishes, vases, ceramics, journals, art supplies, holiday décor, photo frames, bath and body products, fleece blankets, home goods, reusable water bottles, make-up, gift cards, crafts, ornaments, and art.

Please drop off donations at the school by Friday, December 13, during school hours (8:35 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.). 

Winterville Elementary

 

Winterville Elementary School will host its third annual Holiday Market where students will be able to purchase new and gently used gifts for parents and other family members. Proceeds will go toward student field trips.

 

Please make donations by Monday, Dec. 2. Donations can be dropped off in the front office at the school between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, or you can call 706-357-5222 to arrange a pick-up.

Gaines Elementary

 

Gaines Elementary School will hold its Holiday Market Dec. 9-13 and is accepting donations. Students will have the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for loved ones using tickets earned at school.

 

Coffee mugs, stuffed animals, jewelry, holiday décor, etc. are appreciated. Items can be dropped off at the school during school hours, or contact media specialist Anne Wise to arrange a pick-up. Ms. Wise can be reached at 706-357-5388, Ext. 53280 or [email protected].
