UGA’s Law School has created two new programs that are set to address the lack of prosecutors and public defenders in less metropolitan areas while providing law students with a more affordable education.

One program will create a clear path for students to begin working in these underserved communities. As students over the summer, they will have the opportunity to work in either a prosecutor's office or a defender's office to gain more experience.

The other program includes aid money to pay for bar exam preparation costs along with providing long-term avenues to gain more experience in the offices of prosecutors and defenders.

UGA Law now also guarantees that first-generation and veteran students will receive at least a one quarter scholarship while attending.
