As UGA students begin the fall semester, they will see a series of new initiatives to further strengthen campus security – from lighting upgrades and emergency call stations to uniformed Campus Safety Ambassadors who will augment the efforts of UGA Police by serving as student escorts and providing extra “eyes and ears” at night across campus.

It's all part of the University of Georgia’s $7.3 million investment in new security initiatives this year – on top of more than $16 million in campus security measures enacted over the past eight years.

UGA Police Chief Jeff Clark and Dr. Daniel Silk, Associate Vice President for Public Safety, talk about the university’s safety and security enhancements with WUGA’s Greg Trevor in the latest episode of our series, “A Few Minutes With …” exploring UGA initiatives and their broad benefits to the state of Georgia and beyond.
