Two St. Mary’s Medical Group physician practices are getting new names, effective today. Johnson & Murthy Family Practice in Athens is now known as St. Mary’s Primary Care, and Middle Georgia Medical Associates in Greensboro is now known as Good Samaritan Primary Care.

The new names bring these long-established offices into alignment with St. Mary’s Medical Group’s naming convention.

“These names reflect that our practices are integrated with the St. Mary’s Health Care System family,” said Brandt Halbach, Vice President Operations, St. Mary’s Medical Group. “For patients, nothing will change except the name. They will continue to see their trusted providers and friendly office staff at the
location they know so well.”

Dr. Farris Johnson and Dr. Vasu Murthy will continue to provide office-based care at St. Mary’s Primary Care (SMPC) in their current location at 1500 Oglethorpe Ave., Suite 200-A, Athens Ga., 30606. Beginning Aug. 5, they will be joined by Dr. Enakeno Mokedi, who is coming to SMPC from Tidelands Health in South Carolina. The office number remains (706) 548-5833.

Dr. Joshua Lang, Dr. Julian Hutchins and nurse practitioners Lisa Savage and Amanda Lanier will continue to provide care at Good Samaritan Primary Care (GSPC) at 1110 Commerce Drive, Suite 108, Greensboro, Ga., 30642. The office number remains (706) 999-0243.
