All are invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the recently renovated St. Mary’s Breast Health Center on Friday, March 22, at 11:30 a.m. The center is the practice of Dr. Kathleen Jeffery, the first female surgeon in the Athens area to dedicate her practice exclusively to breast health.

St. Mary’s Breast Health Center is located at 1500 Oglethorpe Ave., Suite 2100, Athens. It has been completely renovated to enhance patient comfort and quality of care. The ribbon-cutting also celebrates the opening of a new 3D mammography suite conveniently located within the center. Visitors will be treated to light refreshments, beverages, and tours of the center, all starting from the recently named Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer Waiting Area. 

The ribbon-cutting is jointly hosted by St. Mary’s Medical Group, the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce and the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce. The center is located on the first-floor level of Athens General and Colorectal Surgeons, with free, front-door parking located behind the Suite 2000 building. 

St. Mary’s Breast Health Center provides comprehensive, team-based care for women with breast health issues, especially breast cancer. Services include prevention counseling, routine and diagnostic screening, high-risk counseling, genetic counseling and testing, and medical, radiographic and surgical treatment. The center is certified by the National Quality Measures for Breast Cancer Program and accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
