Athens Academy Students Selected for Youth Leadership Athens

Wednesday, January 17th, 2024

Fifteen Athens Academy students have been selected to participate in the Youth Leadership Athens (YLA) program. Juniors Maddie Conner, Kate Farmer, and Emilee Stortz were selected along with sophomores Charlotte Campbell, Maggie Cowart, Penn Davis, Clara Dekle, Emiliana Korin, Kate Langley, William Parker, Weston Smart, Henry Stokes, Sloane Turner, Charlie Walton, and Reese Walton. These fifteen students represent half of the 2024 YLA class, which will graduate on Sunday, March 24.

YLA is a premiere leadership program for Athens-area sophomores and juniors. Class members build leadership skills, an understanding of the Athens area, and a connection with others in the community. Students attend monthly meetings and participate in a broad range of activities including volunteering, learning about local businesses, and even spending a day learning all about the operations of local government.

Congratulations to each of these student leaders!
