Athens Academy Student Accepted Into the Youth LEAD Georgia Program

Mary Hollis Pugmire, daughter of Allison and Austin Pugmire from Madison, GA and a junior at Athens Academy, was accepted into the Youth LEAD Georgia program. The program partners with Chick-fil-A, Rodney Bullard’s The Same House

Mary Hollis is one of 30-40 high school students selected from all over the state of Georgia through a nomination-application process to participate in this highly selective program.

The program comprises of four weekend retreats held in diverse communities across the state and a four-day summer bus tour. These experiences will consist of engaging workshops, discussions on pertinent issues facing Georgia and interactions will influential business and community leaders.

In addition to the four weekend programs and bus tour, the program will also host a summer Youth Leadership Summit, where youth from all of Georgia’s 159 counties will convene to identify and discuss the issues and opportunities facing Georgia’s youth.

Youth LEAD Georgia graduates will put their skills and knowledge into action and work together to tackle the challenges that impact Georgia’s future vitality. The program aims to support youth in developing and improving leadership skills and explore opportunities for success after high school.

Mary Hollis was recently inducted in the National Honors Society at Athens Academy.
