Join the UGA School of Law’s Business Law Clinic at the Delta Innovation Hub for a free four-part series on the legal aspects of forming and operating nonprofit organizations. The sessions will cover forming a nonprofit corporation and applying for tax exempt status, drafting and amending nonprofit bylaws, working with volunteers, and exploring nonprofit/for-profit partnerships. Each session will consist of a subject-specific lecture, followed by optional individual meetings to dive deeper into your specific inquiries.   Lunch will be provided. RSVP today!

Session 1: Nonprofit Formation Considerations

This session will discuss the basics of tax exempt nonprofits, including an overview of the necessary legal documents to form a nonprofit corporation, tax status application options, and ongoing tax and regulatory compliance matters. Session 2: Drafting and Revising Nonprofit Bylaws

Learn about necessary and suggested provisions, as well as common issues in this complex but often neglected governing document.
