On May 4, 2023, United Way of Northeast Georgia hosted its annual fundraiser, Power of the Purse, which this year raised $18,700. The money raised supports United Way of Northeast Georgia’s mission to meet the highest priority needs of Northeast Georgians through yearlong grants, the health and human services referral program 211, and educational opportunities for local nonprofits. This year’s event welcomed nearly 200 guests at the Athens Country Club for a silent auction, wine pull, and program featuring guest speaker Ronda Rich.

 “After years of not hosting this event in person and a shift in focus as an organization, we were thrilled to welcome so many familiar and new faces to this event,” said Kay Keller, President and CEO of United Way of Northeast Georgia. “This event is always a wonderful opportunity to continue building connections in our region, especially among women philanthropists. We were thrilled to once again welcome everyone to this event and bring awareness to the many ways we can come together and LIVE UNITED.”

 Power of the Purse is an opportunity for local women philanthropists to gather and connect with one another while helping meet the highest priority needs in our region through their generosity.
