Faculty Win Loveday Grants for Innovative Programming

Athens Academy is pleased to announce that three faculty members have been awarded Loveday Summer Study Grants from the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) in cooperation with the Fred H. Loveday Endowment Foundation. Luke Graves, Sarah Powers, and Skip Trimpe have all been recognized with awards.

Art teacher Luke Graves has been awarded a grant in order to enroll in a professional development course for Landscape Painting and Fundamentals this summer. Graves has been teaching Upper School art at Athens Academy for seven years.

Pre/Lower School Librarian Sarah Powers received an award to attend The Montessori Mind conference. She has been on the faculty at Athens Academy since 2019.

Eighth grade physical science teacher Skip Trimpe has received an award to study rocks at the K/Pg Boundary in Dogie Creek, Wyoming. He has been teaching and leading geological study trips at Athens Academy for eighteen years.

Congratulations to all our grant recipients. The Loveday Endowment Foundation and GISA presented awards to eight teachers across the state.
