Local Physicians Participate in Speaker Series at Athens Academy

Athens Academy was pleased to welcome Drs. Kelly and Parker Grow to campus as part of the Spartan Speaker Series. The Grows spoke to Upper School students on Thursday, February 8, in the Chambers Center.

Dr. Kelly Grow shared her journey through college at the University of Georgia where she majored in biology before going on to receive her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon. Dr. Grow completed her residency in internal medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, where she also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology. Dr. Kelly Grow works with Gastroenterology Associates of Athens.

Dr. Parker Grow is also a graduate of the University of Georgia. He earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine, where he also completed his Internal Medicine residency and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. Dr. Parker Grow currently works with Piedmont Heart in Athens.

The Grows are the parents of Athens Academy students Crawford (Class of 2025) and Caddie (Class of 2027).

Athens Academy kicked off its new Spartan Speaker Series in 2022. Geared toward Upper School students, the series features professionals from all walks of life who share their educational and career experiences and answer questions during a casual luncheon format.
