Oconee County Schools formally announced this morning that Kristin Harrison has been named the next principal of Malcom Bridge Middle School, effective June 1, 2023. Mrs. Harrison was unanimously approved by the board of education at the December 5th regular session.

“Kristin Harrison is a proven leader in Oconee County Schools, and I look forward to the  leadership she will provide Malcom Bridge Middle School for years to come,” said Superintendent Jason L. Branch. “Ms. Harrison has served our community with exceptional skill, grace, and care for students and staff in every endeavor, and we are excited to welcome her to this next opportunity.”

Harrison is a graduate of Oconee County Schools and holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Georgia in science education and a specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from Piedmont College. She began her teaching career as a middle school science teacher at Oconee County Middle School in 2004 before relocating to Alabama where she taught science in 7^th- 11^th grades at a private school. Following that, Mrs. Harrison returned to Oconee County High School, where she taught science and CTAE while coaching basketball and volleyball. Mrs. Harrison has served the last five years as assistant principal at Oconee County Middle School where they were named a Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals Breakout School in 2019 for their collaborative leadership in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Said Harrison, “I am humbled by the opportunity to become the principal of Malcom Bridge Middle School. I look forward to continuing the great tradition established by Mr. Eddy while collaborating with our school community to build upon the successes of our students and teachers.”

Harrison and her husband, Alan, are the proud parents of three children, all of whom are students in Oconee County Schools.
