Coach Bryan Pulliam Recognized by Foundation

Athens Academy Coach Bryan Pulliam was recently recognized for excellence in teaching by the College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers program, which “elevates the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering teachers.”
Athletic Director Kevin Petroski, who nominated Coach Pulliam, said, “I’m pleased to recognize a faculty member who is always willing to assist students and athletes with their personal development in and out of the classroom setting. Coach Pulliam is at the top of his field in Georgia and is well respected by colleagues throughout the strength and conditioning community in general.”
Coach Pulliam is the program chair for strength and conditioning as well as the Upper School physical education department. He joined the physical education department in 2004 and has built Athens Academy’s strength and conditioning program over the years. Coach Pulliam has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, and he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist as well as a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach with Distinction.
The College Football Playoff Foundation has recognized over 300 K-12 teachers across the country over the past two years through their Extra Yard for Teachers game ball recognition program. Winners receive a personalized game ball, a Great Teacher T-shirt, and a gift card for classroom projects.
