Monday, October 17th, 2022
The Clarke County School District announces the appointment of Dr. Vickie T. Randolph as interim principal of Whit Davis Elementary School, effective Nov. 1, 2022. She will replace outgoing principal Dr. Dan McGuire, who has announced he is leaving the school and CCSD for a position with the Georgia Department of Education.
Dr. Randolph has over 30 years of professional experience in education and has worked since July 2021 in CCSD’s Division of Instructional Services and School Performance as a Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) specialist and MTSS Coordinator. In this role, she provided instruction to school- and district-level leaders on how to leverage multi-tiered systems of support to support the diverse instructional needs of the district’s students.
Dr. Randolph joined CCSD in 2018 as a Response-to-Intervention (RTI) Coach at Howard B. Stroud Elementary School, a position she held until her work at the district office began. Prior to her time with CCSD, she spent 11 years as an administrator with the Oglethorpe County School System, including roles as assistant principal and counselor at Oglethorpe County Middle School and assistant principal at Oglethorpe County Primary School. She has also been an instructor for the University of Phoenix, assistant principal at Youth Elementary School in Loganville, and instructional lead teacher and assistant principal at Carver Middle School in Greensboro.
Dr. Randolph is a native of Crawfordville and attended Taliaferro and Greene County schools. She earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University. Additionally, she is a University of Georgia “Triple Dawg,” having earned her Specialist in Educational Leadership, Master of Education in Guidance Counseling, and Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.
“I am excited about bringing my expertise to Whit Davis Elementary,” said Dr. Randolph. “I look forward to collaborating with the teachers, students, and parents in continuing to create an environment conducive to inspiring young scholars in the Whit Davis community.”
As Dr. Randolph takes the helm at Whit Davis Elementary, the CCSD district office and the Whit Davis local-school governance team (LSGT) will begin the search process for the most qualified candidate to become the school’s next principal. This process will include input from WDES families and staff. More information will be released as it becomes available.
