Georgia Power, Southern Company Employees Raise More than $150,000 for American Heart Association

At last weekend’s American Heart Association’s Greater Atlanta Heart Walk at The Battery, more than 750 Georgia Power and Southern Company employees, their friends and families walked to support the research and education of cardiac care. Participating employees surpassed the company’s fundraising goal of $150,000 with many still working in a remote environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m thrilled we had such a great turnout,” said Latanza Adjei, vice president of Corporate Services and this year’s Georgia Power Heart Walk chair, “and I’m so proud to say we exceeded our company goals: more than 75 teams, 500 walkers and $150,000 raised for the American Heart Association. Thanks to all of our many coaches who gathers walkers and funds to benefit the American Heart Association. We couldn’t have had a better day to support a great cause.”
117 teams from Georgia Power, Southern Company Gas and Southern Company participated.
