Winners Announced for 38th Annual Oconee Artist Exhibit

Allied Arts invites the public to celebrate the winners of the 38th Annual Oconee Artists Exhibition at the Marlor House through June 18, 2021. No admission is charged.

The Oconee Artists Exhibition is open to all adult artists in the central Georgia area and eligible categories include drawing, mixed media, painting photography, printmaking and sculpture. This year there were forty entries by fifteen artists from the Central Georgia area.

Cash awards and certificates were awarded to the first, second and third place entries. This year’s judge, Stan Strickland also awarded two honorable mentions. Strickland is a Milledgeville native who is a well-known painter. His paintings and prints are in private collections and museums all over the world. The winners are as follows: 

First Place: Birds Over Shem Creek, a photograph by Maryllis Wolfgang

Second Place: Balance, a painting by Krista A Kugaraj

Third Place: Günter, an oil painting by artist James Barton

Honorable Mention: Gradient Effect, a sculpture by Erin K Rocker

Honorable Mention: Andrew Trawick, a painting by Robert H. Battle

Entries for the Oconee Artists Exhibition XXXVIII will be on display through June 18 and several of the pieces will be available for purchase.
