Georgia Power employees are making a difference in their community more than a year after the pandemic began. Through generous donations of snacks and money, the Citizens of Georgia Power, Athens chapter – the employee volunteer arm of the Georgia Power Company – assembled and delivered 96 goody bags for essential first-line workers at Piedmont Athens Regional and St. Mary’s Hospital.

With more than 40 chapters statewide, Citizens of Georgia Power gives back to their local communities through in-person and virtual volunteer projects, fundraisers, and donations. In 2020, Citizens’ members logged more than 55,000 hours of service equal to $1.5 million.
