Public Input Opportunities for Princeton Mill Launch Project
Thursday, March 18th, 2021
The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will host public input opportunities regarding the proposed Princeton Mill Launch Project in March. This launch, located near Macon Highway and Lumpkin Street, compliments the one located at Ben Burton Park and completes the first segment of the Middle Oconee Water Trail in Athens-Clarke County. It would provide access to the Oconee River for canoes and kayaks. The project is funded through SPLOST 2020 and is under consideration for a Land and Water Conservation Grant Fund opportunity. Staff will provide information regarding plans for a boat launch and receive public comment.
The public will have several input opportunities, including two in person gatherings on Thursday, March 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday March 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Both sessions will take place in the pavilion at Ben Burton Park, located at 615 Mitchell Bridge Road.
A virtual input opportunity is scheduled for Monday, March 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Those interested in participating can find the link at www.accgov.com/leisureserviceslistens
An online survey will be available Sunday, March 21 through Sunday, April 4 at www.accgov.com/leisureserviceslistens for additional public input.
