Athens Academy Faculty & Staff Honored for 25 Years of Service

Three members of the Athens Academy faculty have been recognized by the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) for their outstanding work in independent schools. Pat Cuneo, Sandra Kellett, and Nancy Robertson each received the Distinguished Service Award for having dedicated 25 years of service to independent education.

Pat Cuneo joined the Athens Academy faculty as English department chair and assistant director of Academic Affairs in 2004, assuming the role of Academic Affairs director in 2007. He previously served taught English at The Steward School in Richmond, Virginia, for eight years. His daughter Abby is a 2018 graduate of Athens Academy, and his sons Ben and Henry are in the Classes of 2021 and 2030, respectively.

Sandra Kellett started her career teaching elementary school in the Jefferson City School System for ten years before coming to Athens Academy in 1996, where she has taught third grade for the past 25 years. Mrs. Kellett has two daughters, Annie and Maggie, a 2010 graduate of Athens Academy.

Nancy Robertson joined the Preschool faculty in 1996 as an assistant teacher in the K4 classroom. In 2009, she transitioned to her current role as music teacher for K3, K4, and pre-first grade. Her children, Mary Kay and Daniel, graduated from Athens Academy in 1997 and 2002.
