Residents Sought for 10 Positions on Four Policy-Making Boards by Oct. 16th

The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following terms on four important policy-making boards:

Two positions on the Athens Downtown Development Authorityfor a term of two years. One position must be a downtown business owner and one position must be a downtown property owner.*

One position on the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Region 2 Advisory Council for a term of three years.*

One full-term position on the Division of Family and Children Services Boardfor a term of five years; three partial term positions expiring on June 30, 2021, June 30, 2022 and June 30, 2024.*

Three positions on the Vision Committee for a term of three years.*
* - Incumbents are eligible for reappointment and may reapply.
These positions are unpaid, volunteer positions. Applicants for any board, authority, or commission positions must be Athens-Clarke County residents. More detailed information about each board, authority, or commission is available online at www.accgov.com/clerkofcommission.
Applications can be filled out online at www.accgov.com/clerkofcommission or obtained from the Clerk of Commission’s office in Room 204 of City Hall, 301 College Avenue. A separate application must be completed for each position. The deadline for receiving applications is Friday, October 16.
The Mayor and Commission is tentatively scheduled to remotely interview applicants the afternoon/evening of Tuesday, October 27 and tentatively scheduled to make appointments at their meeting on Tuesday, November 3.
