Athens Eastside and Five Points Barberitos, fast-casual Southwestern Grilles and Cantinas with 50 locations across the Southeast, are “Chipping in for a Cure” by hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Percentage Day. On Thursday, Oct. 8, both Barberitos locations will be donating 10 percent of sales to the Loran Smith Cancer Center at Piedmont Hospital.  

Pink chips will also be served to all guests, and pink mood cups will be included with the purchase of a regular drink. In addition, customers will have the option to add a monetary donation to the charity on their receipt at participating locations. The Eastside location is at 1860 Barnett Shoals Road, while the Five Points location is at 1739 S. Lumpkin St.

The Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support recognizes the need to support and treat the patient and family – not just the disease. Because cancer treatment involves more than medical care, free services and programs such as yoga, tai chi, nutrition classes, expressive art classes, complementary therapies (oncology massage, Healing Touch, and Reiki) and counseling are also available to anyone affected by cancer at any phase in his or her journey, regardless of whether they are a Piedmont patient.
