Another Outdoor Dining Option Emerges in Downtown Athens as College Square Converted to Pedestrian Plaza

Visitors and residents will notice something different in downtown Athens on Saturday: a new pedestrian mall and dining area on College Square, the one-block stretch of College Avenue between Broad and Clayton streets.
The closure is the launch of a six-month pilot project, said Angel Helmly, operations analyst with the Athens-Clarke County Central Services Department.
