Residents Sought for 10 Positions on Five Policy-Making Boards by June 5th

The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following terms on five important policy-making boards:

Two positions on the Airport Authority for a term of four years.*

Two positions on the Classic Center Authority for a term of four years.

Two positions on the Hearings Board for a term of four years.*

Two positions on the Historic Preservation Commission for a term of three years.*

Two positions on the Planning Commission for a term of five years.*
* - Incumbents are eligible for reappointment and may reapply.
These positions are unpaid, volunteer positions. Applicants for any board, authority, or commission positions must be Athens-Clarke County residents. More detailed information about each board, authority, or commission is available online at www.accgov.com/clerkofcommission.
Applications can be filled out online at www.accgov.com/clerkofcommission or obtained from the Clerk of Commission’s office in Room 204 of City Hall, 301 College Avenue. A separate application must be completed for each position. The deadline for receiving applications is Friday, June 5.
The Mayor and Commission is tentatively scheduled to remotely interview applicants the afternoon/evening of Monday, June 15 and tentatively scheduled to make appointments at their meeting on Tuesday, July 16.
