Dr. Fabian Chang to Join Hometown Pediatrics

St. Mary's Medical Group is pleased to welcome pediatrician Fabian Chang, MD, to the office of Hometown Pediatrics. Appointments are now being accepted for telehealth visits as well as traditional visits, starting in early April.
As a pediatrician, Dr. Chang seeks to establish a long-term relationship with children and their families in order to promote trust, communication, and the best health outcomes possible for each child. He provides compassionate, ongoing wellness care, sick care, and chronic condition management from newborn to adolescence.
Hometown Pediatrics, which is part of St. Mary's Medical Group, is located just off Hog Mountain Road near the Oconee County Civic Center at 1020 Jamestown Boulevard, Building 200, Watkinsville, Ga., 30677.
Dr. Chang comes to Hometown Pediatrics from Northeast Nevada Regional Hospital, Elko, NV, where his service included not only primary care pediatrics but management of the hospital's inpatient nursery. Other experience includes a 5-week global health externship with WE-ACTx in Kigali, Rwanda and a two-month global health externship with Doctors for Global Health in Estancia, El Salvador.
He earned his bachelor's degree at Tufts University, Medford, Mass., completed post-baccalaureate premed courses at Harvard University Extension School in Cambridge, Mass., and earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Mass. He completed his pediatrics residency with emphasis on social pediatrics, global health track, at Children's Hospital at Montefiore, a high-volume pediatrics specialty hospital located in Bronx, NY. He also served as a clinical research coordinator with Dana Farer Cancer Institute in Boston while studying at Harvard, and received the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Teaching Star Award in 2017 and 2019.
Dr. Chang is fluent in English, Korean and conversational Mandarin Chinese, as well as proficient in medical Spanish. Among his after-work interests are Tae Kwon Do, jazz, and mentoring disadvantaged youth.
