Students interested in studying the arts after graduation should take note of the Classic Center Cultural Foundation arts scholarships. With over $30,000 awarded last year, this opportunity is a way to pursue a variety of artistic passions.

Three performing arts scholarships, consisting of one dance/drama, one vocal and one instrumental, and one visual arts scholarship will be offered for high school students in the Athens area, including surrounding counties. One of last year’s winners, Anna Ambartsumian, stunned during auditions. Now, she hopes to major in voice for college and pursue a career in both opera and classical music.

Similarly, three performing arts scholarships, consisting of one dance/drama, one vocal and one instrumental, and one visual arts scholarship will be offered for high school students in Rabun County. This is the first year a visual arts scholarship will be available in the Rabun region.

Classic Center Cultural Foundation Director Elizabeth Austin said she is “thrilled that the generous support of the community has allowed the Cultural Foundation to be able to extend more opportunities to talented students.”

One performing arts scholarship is offered for high school students in the Lake Oconee area [Greene, Putnam and Morgan counties]. Last year’s winner of this single scholarship was Katie Tran, who is already actively pursuing a music career and is a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Culinary applications are accepted from any of the above regions and are not limited to a specific age category. High school and college students who are enrolled in culinary programs of study, as well as individuals currently enrolled in culinary apprenticeships or internships, are encouraged to apply.

The deadline for all applications is March 6th, 2020. Students may find the application at wwww.ClassicCenter.com/Scholarships.
