The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC), chaired by State Representative Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain), announced a new partnership with Ohio River South, a regionally-focused, minority-owned public affairs firm. The partnership will serve to deepen the caucus’ legislative capacity and update its branding.

“The GLBC has long been at the forefront of championing the rights of all Georgians, while advocating for equity and opportunity,” said Rep. Bennett. “We are committed to increasing our collective impact, and I cannot imagine a better way to celebrate 45 years of service than leveraging this partnership for the benefit of our constituents.”

Established in 1975, the GLBC is the largest group of African American state lawmakers in the country with 65 members. The non-partisan caucus tapped Ohio River South after several months of due diligence, noting that “the firm brings a century of experience at the highest levels of government service, public affairs, legislative advocacy and strategic communications.”

Ohio River South is a civic-minded, southern-focused public affairs firm. Named for the body of water that was once America’s natural dividing line, the firm solves public sector challenges in the country’s fastest-growing region. Since 2016, it has consulted for dozens of companies, nonprofits and governments across nine southern states.
