OCS Achieves Highest Average ACT Score in Northeast Georgia

Oconee County Schools has earned an average ACT composite score of 23.8 for the 2019 testing period, the highest in Northeast Georgia and #4 in the state. Students in Oconee County regularly lead the state on national assessments and have once again demonstrated their preparation to achieve at the college level.

“Our students have worked incredibly hard and were strongly supported by their teachers and parents,” said Superintendent Jason Branch. “These scores reflect not only academic excellence, but are also a strong indicator of preparedness for students to continue to excel in college and career.”

The ACT college readiness assessment is a standardized test for high school achievement and college admissions in the United States produced by ACT. Students are assessed in the areas of English, mathematics, reading, and science.
