U.S. Senators Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and David Perdue (R-GA) applauded the Senate confirmation of Steven D. Grimberg of Atlanta to fill a vacancy on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta. The Senate approved his nomination by a vote of 75-18.

“Steven Grimberg has a distinguished record of upholding the law, and his deep knowledge of economic crimes and cybersecurity threats will serve him well on the federal bench,” said Senator Isakson. “I’m glad the Senate has confirmed Steven to serve Georgia and the United States on the bench in the same district where he compiled an impressive record for the U.S. attorney’s office. I thank him for his past service and his continued willingness to serve.”

“Congratulations to Steven Grimberg on his confirmation to be a U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Georgia,” said Senator Perdue. “As a first-generation American and proud graduate of Emory University, Steven Grimberg has distinguished himself by spearheading the development of a cybercrime unit in Georgia to prosecute criminal organizations around the world. I’m confident Steven Grimberg will continue to serve Georgia with integrity in this new role, just as he has throughout his impressive legal career.”

Grimberg was nominated to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on April 4. Isakson introduced Grimberg at his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on April 29. Perdue submitted testimony for the record. The committee voted 17-3 to send his nomination to the full Senate on June 13.
