Imery Group, a firm specializing in high performance construction and energy ratings, is proud to announce that it is now the first Certified B Corporation in Athens. Furthermore, it is the first homebuilder in the state to receive the designation.

Imery Group, which has been building homes in Athens and metro Atlanta for the last 10 years, joins the ranks of more than 2,900 Certified B Corporations in over 150 industries and 60 countries.

To become certified, a company must pass an assessment and regular audits of its mission, employment practices, governance structure, social impact and environmental stewardship.

To pass the assessment, Imery Group had to formalize policies and improvement plans for dozens of responsible business practices, such as energy and water efficiency in its offices, green product purchasing, paid employee volunteering hours, recycling on job sites, hybrid and electric vehicles, and local banking.

The Imery Group is actively involved with Athens Land Trust, Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation, Athens Area Habitat for Humanity, and the Athens chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. In addition, Luis Imery is a member of the EarthCraft Council and a board member for the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance.
