General Milley and I discussed our shared concerns about the $22 trillion national debt crisis, as well as the devastating impact a potential continuing resolution would have on our military’s ability to defend Americans at home and abroad. In recent years, the battle has shifted from global terrorism to great power competition. President Trump needs a military advisor with the skills to navigate complex threats from China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, in addition to terrorism, across all five domains: air, land, sea, cyber, and space.
