Clarke County Board Of Education Approves Hiring Of Principal For Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary

The Clarke County Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Bipul K Singh to fill the position of principal at Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary at the May 9, 2019 meeting. This is the first of seven principal positions that are being filled through a collaboration between district staff and school hiring committees comprised of the LSGT, community members and school staff.
“I am confident that Dr. Singh is the right person to take the lead at Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary,” said Demond Means, Superintendent of Clarke County Schools. “His many strengths and wealth of experience will allow him to continue the strong leadership tradition at Oglethorpe Avenue.”
Dr. Singh currently serves as Assistant Principal at Norton Elementary School in Gwinnett County, Georgia. During his tenure, Norton Elementary School has seen significant academic growth as evidenced by a move from 75th to 36th on the district’s elementary school rating. An educator since 2000, he has seven years of experience as a school administrator. Dr. Singh’s background is in Special Education.
