For the second year in a row, Athens-based Landmark Properties is the nation’s most active student housing developer, according to an industry analysis by Student Housing Business.
 
Over the next four years, Landmark Properties has a pipeline that includes 34 new developments across the country totaling 23,316 beds. The second-most active developer on the Student Housing Business ranking includes 33 projects and only 15,906 beds.
 
This year’s ranking is the fourth time in five years Landmark Properties has achieved the top spot. Landmark Construction, the construction subsidiary of Landmark Properties, has been ranked the nation’s most active student housing contractor for three consecutive years.
 
“Over the past year, we’ve continued to see record-breaking growth within our organization,” Landmark Properties President and CEO Wes Rogers said. “Demand in the student housing industry remains strong, and our team continues to source attractive development and acquisitions opportunities that ultimately lead to elevated living experiences for our residents.”
 
The total value of Landmark Properties’ four-year development pipeline outlook exceeds $5 billion. In 2019, the company will begin construction on 11 new projects in significant markets, including Miami, Florida; Berkeley, California; Austin, Texas; and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
 
Landmark Properties currently owns and manages 61 student housing projects across the country, totaling more than 33,500 beds, and has over $1.8 billion in assets currently under construction.
