Oconee County Schools received a Financial Efficiency Star Rating of “5” – the highest possible score – from the Georgia Department of Education. The 2018 calculation is based on a three-year average of per pupil expenditures and College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores. OCS is one of only three Georgia systems to receive a perfect district score.

“I am very pleased to see that Oconee County Schools has once again earned the #1 rating in the state for financial efficiency, demonstrating our strong commitment to both fiscal responsibility and high achievement,” said Superintendent Jason L. Branch. “As one of the premier school districts in the state and nation, we are blessed with exceptional teachers, leaders, students, and parents – all of whom have played an important role in this accomplishment.”

According to the Georgia Department of Education, each school district in the state receives a rating ranging from one half-star to five stars; a five-star district can be described as having strong academic outcomes and lower levels of expenditures in comparison with other districts.
